Mac Setup


The following is predicated on your computer being plugged directly into the wall jack in your room via a Cat 5, 5e or 6 patch cable and not through another device, such as a router, or wireless. If any User Account Control boxes pop up during this process, hit continue.


OS 9 INSTRUCTIONS

  • Click on the Apple Icon in the top left corner of the screen
  • Click on Control Panels
  • Click on TCP/IP
  • Choose Connect Via: and then Built-in Ethernet
  • Choose Configure
  • Choose Configure Ipv4 and then Using DHCP
  • Click Apply

You have finished setting up your TCP/IP settings. Reboot your computer and it will be ready to use with VBNet's Ethernet service.



OS X INSTRUCTIONS

  • Click on the Apple Icon in the top left corner of the screen
  • Click on System Preferences
  • Click on Network
  • Choose Connect Via: and then Built-in Ethernet
  • Choose Configure
  • Choose Configure Ipv4 and then Using DHCP
  • For OS X (10.5 Leopard) choose Built-in Ethernet from the left and choose Configure: Using DHCP in the main window.
  • Click Apply

You have finished setting up your TCP/IP settings. Reboot your computer and it will be ready to use with VBNet's Ethernet service.
